The Carlsbad Firefighters Association has proudly served the community of Carlsbad since 1970. Today, our union represents 96 dedicated professionals across Fire/EMS, Lifeguard, and Fire Prevention divisions. We are committed to supporting our members as they deliver the highest level of service to the community while advocating for fair wages, competitive benefits, and safe, sustainable working conditions.

To strengthen our organization and advance our mission, we developed this 2025–2028 Strategic Plan. It identifies our strengths and challenges and provides clear, actionable objectives designed to enhance our efficiency, accountability, and collective purpose. As the Carlsbad Fire Department continues to evolve, our union must evolve with it. Protecting the wages, benefits, and working conditions our members have fought hard to secure remains essential.

The demands placed on our members continue to grow—physically, mentally, and financially. Balancing the pressures of the job with personal well-being and family life has never been more challenging. Supporting the overall well-being of our members remains our highest priority.

This Strategic Plan will serve as a roadmap for current and future leaders, ensuring we remain resilient, unified, and prepared for the challenges ahead.
